I’m a sucker for breakfast. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. Breakfast is the biggest motivator for me to get out of bed, and I can have breakfast items for lunch and dinner too; and see nothing wrong with that notion.
Being the late riser I am, I was naturally very delighted when Carluccio’s – which also happens to be one of my favorite pizza places in Dubai- set up shop in the Ranches Souq (very close to where I live); offering an All Day Breakfast. It is not unusual for M and myself to head over to said Carluccio’s for breakfast; and we absolutely love it. It’s less crowded since Dubailand isn’t a very central area; very relaxed, but still lively and bustling.
Carluccio’s keeps it simple and does food right. Their menu offers a decent but not overwhelming variety; with just enough options to please every palate. I was quite satisfied with their breakfast menu as it is, but they have now added more breakfast options, making it even better.
I was recently invited by their manager, Lena Fleks, to preview their upcoming breakfast menu, which will be available end of this month. M and I have observed on many an occasion -whilst chewing out food- what a great leader and team player she is by the way; and I’m going to seize the opportunity to put it out there. Good job, Lena- your hard work isn’t going unnoticed 🙂
The new menu not only looks more visually appealing, but also offers some new and mouthwatering breakfast options. These include both sweet and savory; healthy and indulgent options alike.
I love an Eggs Florentine every chance I can get one, and so far, Carluccio’s has served me the best Eggs Florentine in Dubai. Maybe I haven’t tried too many, but maybe I just haven’t felt the need to, when I can get my fix a stone’s throw away. Lightly toasted and slightly garlicky sourdough bread, under a bed of blanched spinach and two runny poached eggs: that’s how I want to start my Saturday!
I also love their Potato Fritata, which has a generous topping of pan-seared discs of herbed potatoes.
M loves their Breakfast Magnifica, which has 2 eggs of your choice, sauteed mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, turkey bacon, sausage, sourdough bread, a coffee or tea, AND a fresh juice- for only 49 AED! I honestly don’t know where else you can find those prices for that kind of quality.
They’ve added an option of Eggs Benedict with Veal ham that M really wanted to try but it’ll only be available towards the end of the month, so I’m actually counting down to that.
Other things on the menu include (but are not limited to), crepes, panini, croissants, fruit salad, more types of eggs, granola with yogurt, and something very interesting: The Fregola. This is a pasta pudding cooked with milk and honey and sounds quite great, really. I didn’t try it yet as I only had so much room, but that’s ok- because I’ll definitely try it on one of my frequent visits- and it sounds amazing either way.
I’m looking forward to my next groggy Carluccio’s weekend run already 🙂 Watch this space for updates!
