The Funusual Brunch at Accents | Intercontinental Dubai Marina

Did I mention that Fridays are for brunching? Only about a couple dozen times, I’m sure. Last Friday’s brunch of choice was the Funusual Brunch at Accents, Intercontinental Dubai Marina; and boy oh boy, it was indeed a wok of fun!

First things first: the place was jam packed. While that might make some of your solitude loving hearts sink, please be assured that a bustling restaurant is always a good sign. It means people are there because it’s worth their while, and most probably will be worth yours too.

This was my second time dining at Accents, and I can confidently confirm that Accents serve up one of the best buffets in town. The food is always fresh– most of it is made-to-order, and the variety is in abundance.

I really enjoyed the fresh pasta– both with pesto sauce and with parmesan foam; and couldn’t get enough of the smoked turkey and caramelized onion flatbread. I also enjoyed the tacos, and the dessert. Oh, and as always, the view was breathtaking.

I also noticed a very amusing phenomenon: almost everyone (if not everyone) there was using The Entertainer voucher when it came time to settle the bill. I’m a big user of The Entertainer myself, and am always fascinated when I observe a visible, tangible influx of traffic as a result of a voucher. That said, people won’t come even with a voucher if the food, ambience and service isn’t satisfactory; and all of these were above and beyond.
