Breakfast at The Restaurant | Address Boulevard Dubai

July 17, 2017 , Haiya

I did not pay for this meal at The Restaurant. It was complimentary, as part of my staycation at The Address Boulevard earlier this month. The opinions stated within this post are entirely my own.

I stayed at The Address Boulevard for two nights earlier this month. On our first morning there, we had breakfast at The Restaurant and on the second morning, we ordered In-Room Dining.

Although breakfast at The Restaurant is served all day, 24-hours a day, I decided to wait till it was actually time for breakfast as per international standards before I stuffed my face with the waffles and avocado-toast I had been eyeing on the menu the night before at dinner.

So here’s the deal with breakfast at The Restaurant: they serve breakfast 24-hours a day! BUT – it gets better- if you go for breakfast between 6-11am, you also get access to a (small but solid) unlimited buffet of breakfast items like cold cuts, cheeses, cold mezze, Shakshouka, roasted veggies and some baked items.

If you’re entitled to breakfast as part of your stay, you get one main course each, plus the unlimited buffet if you’re enterprising enough (as am I) to wake up between 6-11am. Believe you me, it is a challenge of epic proportions to get M out of bed even by 10am on a holiday.

I’m so glad we made it in time for the “buffet”, because the muffins, danishes, and croissants were delicious. “Quality over quantity” is the mantra here, which is palpable in ever bite, but even the so-called “small” variety had something for everyone. From blueberry muffins to chocolate ones. From banana bread to pain au chocolat. Croissants ranging from zaatar through cheese to almond. They seemed to have all that one really desires.

What really stood out though, were the ala carte items. We went for 3 options, out of which two were extremely memorable. We washed these down with fresh juices and some extremely unforgettable puffed rice tea that I’ve since been dreaming of.

One was the smashed avocado on sourdough. It’s quite the common breakfast item in today’s hipster era, but this particular one made it seem like the chef had taken a peek into the avocado toast I usually make at home! IT had sun-dried tomatoes on it, and a sprinkling of crumbled feta- which is exactly how I make it at home (plus I drizzle some balsamic and crack some fresh black pepper on top). Needless to say, this was a hit, especially with the perfectly poached runny eggs that gave birth to one of my most popular Instagram pictures this month 🙂

My sweet tooth demanded that I try the waffles with cinnamon poached Granny Smith apples and maple syrup. This was an indulgence I do not regret. I loved that the cinnamon could actually be tasted and I didn’t have to look for it. I loved how the apples were poached perfectly; they were soft but not mushy. What blew me away was how light and airy these waffles were though. It was almost as if they were hollow in the middle! They just perfectly melted in my mouth, and for the first time after having a plate of waffles, I didn’t feel heavy or bloated!

We also tried the Huevos Rancheros, but compared to the other two mains we had, it was quite forgettable. Overall, this was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had, regardless of whether it was a hotel breakfast or not. Extremely delicious and unforgettable, and a new favorite because it’s open 24 hours a day!
