Casual Hour at The Restaurant | Address Boulevard Dubai

July 21, 2017 , Haiya

I did not pay for this Casual Hour at The Restaurant. It was complimentary, as part of my staycation at The Address Boulevard earlier this month. The opinions stated within this post are entirely my own.

Even on the day we were supposed to check out, I wanted to squeeze in as many meals as I could, so we decided to try out the Business Lunch at The Restaurant, which they like to call the Casual Hour.

By now, I had already had dinner once, dinner again, and a breakfast at the restaurant, so I was already a huge fan of this place. I knew I could count on the Casual Hour to be an impressive one, but I underestimated just how impressive it would end up being.

So here’s the deal with the Casual Hour at The Restaurant. You have the choice to pick either the two course deal (salad and main course), or the three course (salad, main course and dessert plus tea/coffee). Both deals come with a choice or soft drink or water. The two course package costs AED 110, and the three course costs AED 135.

I cannot stress enough on and assure you of what an excellent deal this is. This is where you want to have your casual business lunch with a prospective lunch where you want to impress without looking uptight. This is where you can get them to loosen up, while still coming across as professional. Whoever is reading this and wants to have a lunch meeting with me, please know that this is where you need to invite me.

When we went for Casual Hour at The Restaurant, we saw the bar manager after two days. I understood why he has that title though, because even after two days and (i’m sure) hundreds of guests, he remembered exactly how M and I like our water! Sparkling, with a wedge of lemon, ice for M but no ice for me. Slow clap.

There is no printed of fixed menu for the Casual Hour at The Restaurant. The options are displayed in pots and pans on the buffet, to try and take you back to your childhood and remind you of your mama’s or grandma’s kitchen and how you’d try and get a taste and whiff of what she’s cooking. There were two salads and two mains which we could pick from, so M and I decided to have one of each. He went for the Buckwheat salad, while I went for the Cobb Salad. He went for the tenderloin and I went for the seabass.

Everything was utterly perfect as always, but I especially loved my fish. The vegetable butter sauce was luscious, and I loved that the celery still had a little crunch to it and I also loved the brininess from the Kalamata olives. I was once again reminded of how much precedence quality is given over quantity at The Restaurant, and what great attention the chef pays to the importance of seasoning, and to the importance of textural contrasts.

Highly recommended.
