Afternoon Tea at the Address Boulevard Dubai

July 19, 2017 , Haiya

During my staycation at The Address Boulevard earlier this month, I pretty much ate my heart out. I had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant, enjoyed the Club Lounge, ordered In Room Dining, and also had Afternoon Tea at the Address Boulevard Lobby Lounge.

A colossal chandelier weighing more than 2500 kg (made of hand-blown glass from Czech Republic) welcomes you to The Address Boulevard, into an airy, high-ceilinged lobby with white undertones and accents of gold (amongst other muted colors), instantly sweeping you away with the grandeur. I later learnt that it even has a name perfect for it’s exquisitely feminine appeal: Felicity 🙂 Another one like it hangs over the lobby lounge, where I enjoyed some of the best Afternoon Tea Dubai has to offer, but there are a total of 46 chandeliers in the hotel, inspired by 16 different designs.

I don’t usually go for Afternoon Teas. They feel like too fancy and hoity-toity an affair for me, often involving delicate little canapés and hors d’oeuvres that look a lot prettier than they taste. I’m pleased to announce (and assure), that everything in this Afternoon Tea tasted as sublime as it looked pretty!

The Afternoon Tea at The Address Boulevard Lobby Lounge is really very reasonably priced at AED 140 pp, especially for those who would prefer to pay a little less and skip on the refills. The tea/coffee is unlimited though, so I have zero complaints. Like everything else at The Address Boulevard, quality exceeds all else, and the Afternoon Tea was an extremely pleasurable one.

What stands out about this Afternoon Tea at The Address Boulevard is the presentation of the “stand”, but also the refreshing mocktail in a teacup. It’s not everyday that you are presented your Afternoon Tea in a stack of shiny white drawers, but I have never been served such a refreshing beverage in a teacup with a big round ice-sphere enclosing a beautiful, fresh orchid! It was love at first sight, and even more so at first sip, because it was the most perfectly balanced mocktail and not overly sweet.

This Afternoon Tea had some traditional items like scones and finger sandwiches, and some extremely innovative ones like their (already famous) chocolate “caviar” with mousse.

Other items included a crispy fresh kiwi tart, lemon tart, and raspberry tart. What looks like a “club sandwich” is actually a raspberry and vanilla cake. One of my favorite things was the salted butter and rosemary toffee wrapped in an edible wrapper.

The savory items were exceptionally good! I didn’t have the foie gras macaron, but I hear it’s quite something. I especially loved the squid ink sandwich with parma ham, but it truly is hard to pick favorites because everything I had wowed me.

A point worth noting though, is that some of the items change daily, so if there’s one thing you can expect, it’s to be surprised. The Address Boulevard has an art gallery feel, and Afternoon Tea at their Lobby Lounge is one of the best ways to appreciate some of their (many) extremely thought out art pieces. Compliments and tip of the hat to the Chef.
