I love weekends. Why? One word: Brunches. No better reason to get out of bed than breakfast and lunch options combined in one meal!

Yesterday M and I had the pleasure of being invited to a blogger meet up at Little mOre Cafe for their Friday brunch.  Little mOre cafe is brought to us by the masterminds behind Avec and Eric Kayser. This extremely well organized and most unique meet up was organized by TOH PR and the management of Little mOre themselves.

First off, we were greeted by the friendly hosts, and offered the breakfast menu. M went for some poached eggs and I went for scrambled. We got sides of hash browns, sausages, and sauteed mushrooms. There were many other options as well, such as bacon, baked beans, Umm Ali, pastry and Poffertjes.  Everything was done very nicely and the mushrooms were seasoned very well- which I’m quite particular about.

For the main courses, there was a buffet of options for us to try.

In Salads we had:

  • Greek Salad
  • Sweet & Chili Chicken Salad
  • Eggplant Quinoa salad: this was DELICIOUS! Quinoa itself s quite bland so these guys cooked it very well and seasoned it ever so subtly but nicely.
  • Pasta Salad

The main courses included:

  • Saffron Rice
  • Beef curry
  • Asian Chicken Stir Fry
  • Potato Cakes: crispy and a pleasant change from the usual soggy potato cakes
  • Pasta with olives, capers and eggplants: It is rare fir me to enjoy pasta at a buffet but today was one such occurrence
  • Roasted vegetables: always a welcome addition to my plate

Then, we were brought tapas sized servings of the cafe’s best sellers. These were:

  • Poffertjes: I’ve had Poffertjes before but these guy’s really know how to make these the right way!  I love that there was a faint hint of cinnamon in them.
  • French toast: Perfectly cooked and aptly sweetened, what takes this french toast to the next level is that event the bread is baked in house!
  • Seafood ravioli
  • Asian mango salad
  • Smoked salmon and quinoa salad: This was really WOW!

The desserts included a soft, moist carrot cake made to perfection and  rich decadent chocolate cake. We enjoyed big fat slices of each of these with cups of creamy coffee.

What really made this meet up extremely unique was the vibrant energy that was radiating from the management and the fun games they had planned our for us.

There was blind food tasting, in which we had to guess the ingredients in a given dish, whilst blindfolded. The person who guessed the most ingredients won a voucher for lunch at Little mOre worth AED 200. That person was me! Tee hee!

The second game, which was also a bit of a masterclass, taught us how to do coffee art. The Barista demonstrated (a few times too many), how we can make designs on coffee with the milk froth. The results were odd abstracts open to interpretations, and the interpretations were, but of course, hilarious. ( I won this one too, haha!) The prize for this was coffee for two! How appropriate.

The third and final game was Pictionary, in which we had to guess the names of some of the dishes on the Little mOre menu. The team I was on, won! We each got a voucher for a slice of cake. Happy dance for me, what a lucky day, haha!

Overall, great food, great service, and a Friday brunch well spent. A bargain for AED 95, in a lively and well lit setting. Will definitely be going back and recommending it to my friends and followers!
