Dubai is doing a darn good job at being a year-round tourist destination, and the Dubai Food Festival is naturally my favorite time of year. The DFF 2k16 was kicked off with a whopping 1000 person long table on Emaar Boulevard in Downtown Dubai- the longest table in the history of the boulevard. Just to put things in perspective, the table started outside Pavilion, and ended close to Leila!
The sharing concept meal was held on a pleasant day that started out being sunny and ended on a much cooler note, and was a wonderful way to meet like-minded people and enjoy a communal meal with them. The menu items were well thought out and expertly executed, especially since it’s no easy feat catering to a thousand guests at once. Something I observed across the board was that everyone enjoyed the food. All the dishes were seasoned so as to be as universally palatable as possible, but clearly the ingredients used were of premium quality and hence shone in every bite.
Here’s what was on the menu:
You know what was super cool though? I was afraid it would be ridiculously crowded on the roads and didn’t want to be late, so I left way too early and ended up being the first one there. I was officially guest numero uno. This goes in the memory box.
The event was largely sponsored by Dodge, so a very sexy array of Dodge cars were parked in the nearby lot for visitors to pose with and take pictures of.
The best part for me though, was that I got to meet a ton of great people to network and get acquainted with. I think the Long Table was a really great concept and I’d love to see it become a yearly event!
Thanks so much for inviting me, Emaar Hospitality. Your events are always outstanding!
