I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Brasserie 2.0 does the best theme nights. I was floored by their BBQ theme night, and again by their pre-Ramadan Iftar preview. The ambiance was (as always) clean, modern and simple; Ramadan elements could be seen throughout but the restaurant was (refreshingly) not transformed into a barely lit bedouin tent.

I’ve been putting this review off for so long and have been debating with myself whether to just make a round-up of all the Iftars I’ve previewed in one single post, or to review each one individually, because some of them really do deserve for the light to be shone on them solely. The pickle I’m in though, is that it’s SO hard to do justice to an Iftar buffet in a review because pictures always come out far less attractive than the affair actually was, and it’s impossible to talk about each and every single one of the 3 billion, five hundred thousand, seven hundred and twenty eight items there were. Nevertheless, I shall try.

The Iftar buffet at Brasserie 2.0 is for AED 245/pax. This Iftar is for those of you who don’t care much for a heavily themed/staged affair, but care very deeply for the food to be extremely satisfying. There was so VERY much to choose from, and everything ranged from good to great as far as taste and flavors were concerned. Whether you’re in the mood for Okra Biz Zeit, Eggplant Moussakka, Biryani, Hamour Tagine, Prawn Cocktail, Sujouk, Tikkas, Mixed Grills, freshly grilled seafood, Pakoras, Eclairs, fresh crepes or Kunafa with ice cream, you’ll find it all here and SO much more!

 

This is one of the Iftars I’m most highly recommending to everyone who’s asking me for suggestions, and I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I did. Do give it a try and let me know what you think?
