I had some family visiting, and they were staying at the Novotel on Sheikh Zayed Road. We went to meet them and decided to just eat at one of the restaurants there- 365 All Day Dining.

It happened to be Asian night there, which naturally excited me very much. When I began eating, however, I realized that it was mostly a salad buffet, as those were the greatest in variety.

There were 3 Thai curries. Two soups. And three warm appetizers. No dimsum, nor sushi. Then again, for the meagre price of AED 120 for a buffet, I’d be reluctant to even try sushi. The manager did however admit that many people come expecting sushi.

There was also a plethora of desserts, but none of them really impressed me. They were mostly Philipino desserts, which added further confusion of the cohesion of the buffet.

Overall it was quite mediocre food. Truth be told; I used Entertainer vouchers, which halved the bill for us and I still didn’t really enjoy the food. My husband defends that you get what you pay for, but I think that can only justify the choice of ingredients, and not the execution of the dishes. The mussels were fresh; the calamari wasn’t rubbery; but flavors could use work across the board.

Will I be going back? Extremely improbable.
